Our Clear Cooperation Policy

Cooperation Policy for Buyers and Buyer's Broker Compensation

At Century 21 First Story Real Estate, we are committed to upholding transparency and cooperation with other brokers for compensation when negotiating on behalf of buyers. In light of recent regulatory changes impacting the communication of agent compensation, we recognize the importance of providing clear and concise information to buyers, brokers, and the public regarding our policies.

Given the limitations imposed by the Department of Justice on how agents are paid and how communication between agents is conducted, including restrictions on posting clear compensation details on the Multiple Listing Service (MLS), WE ENCOURAGE ALL OFFERS FROM BUYERS INCLUDING THOSE WHERE BUYERS ARE ASKING THAT THEIR AGENT BE COMPENSATED BY THE SELLER.

WE ACKNOWLEDGE THAT BUYERS AGENTS WORK HARD AND THAT ALL BUYERS MAY NOT BE ABLE TO AFFORD A BUYER'S AGENT FEE IN ADDITION TO THEIR CLOSING COSTS AND DOWNPAYMENT. We believe we can explain any terms including financial terms very well to any seller. While compensation may not currently be allowed to be posted on the MLS, it is our firm belief that sellers and buyers will only benefit from clearly written negotiation terms. One such term includes how all agents will be compensated for their hard work through long and tedious transaction processes as seasoned professionals.

We make every effort to communicate clearly with our customers while upholding high standards in accounting for all funds in every real estate transaction.

We also believe in the profession of real estate and uphold principles that Realtors are champions for homeownership through advocacy efforts on behalf of all homeowners. Furthermore, we are committed to protecting private property rights as outlined in our Constitution.

It's important to note that all contracts - both listing agreements and sales contracts - have always been negotiable at Century 21 First Story Real Estate; they remain so today. We affirm our right to choose who we work with while respecting our customers' rights to choose professionals in their real estate dealings as well. We believe in our agents and their abilities to serve and provide invaluable services to buyers and sellers and that they should be compensated fairly for their work as with any professional service provider.

For any inquiries or concerns regarding these policies or any other matter related to cooperation with brokers for buyer compensation negotiations, please feel free to contact us directly.

Thank you,

Century 21 First Story Real Estate,

An independently owned and operated franchise.
